Hi, it’s me again, your spiritual tour-guide. I trust you’ve had an amazing week. God loves you and I really hope you come to an understanding of that. For the next couple of posts, I will be sharing with you, what has been on my mind for some weeks now,‘Seasons’.
Life is in seasons, that’s the natural phenomenon. There is the dry season, rainy season, summer, winter, fall, spring. Different seasons have their peculiar characteristics and just like seasons change in life, so also seasons in our lives change and have peculiar characteristics. If you were to examine your current situation or season in life right now, what would you say? Think about that for a quick moment. Would you say you are waiting on God’s promise or you are in the fulfillment of the promises? Or it seems like God is far away and quiet? Or you are in a thriving relationship with God? The list could go on and on. So, let’s just talk about recognizing seasons in life in this week’s post.
It’s easy to struggle when you are unaware of what season you are in life or what to do in that season. Imagine wearing sweaters and coats with boots in the summer. Asides from people thinking you are crazy, it will be super uncomfortable for you to go around in layers of clothing when its really hot. Or imagine wearing shorts and t-shirts in the winter, you definitely will get yourself sick. It’s the same with the seasons of life, not being appropriately dressed and ready for a season in life can frustrate you. The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “For everything there is a season.” It also tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.” Ultimately God is in control of all of the seasons, whether natural or within life. So it’s important for us to recognize that from the start.
I need you to understand that God makes everything beautiful in its time, disregarding what season you are in life, There’s a beauty in it. Let’s dive in.
1. The Waiting Season. ugh! Waiting is not pretty, whether it’s waiting in line for the bathroom or food or waiting for a ride, the whole idea of waiting just isn’t pretty and i’m not sure i know anybody that loves waiting. If you are in that season right now where you are waiting on God to do something for you, a job, a spouse, a change of situation and it seems like it’s never gonna happen. Please just hang in, God hasn’t forgotten you. He is definitely working, pruning you and making sure you are fit for the next phase of your life and what you are believing for. Just hold on to your Faith and keep confessing God’s word. Keep up your joy level too, the devil is best known to take advantage of the waiting season to make you doubt God’s love for you.
2. The Busy Bee Season. There are seasons in your life where theres hardly time to breath, when it seems like you are rolling from one schedule into another without breaks or breathing space. In seasons like this, your fellowship with God tends to suffer a bit and it’s only natural because you are juggling things and have to be at places and see people and just have an unending list of things to do. One important thing to remember to do in this season is to breathe and rest. God wants you to take care of yourself and He is not mad at you for being busy,’Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.’ 3John 1:2 . However, it is important that you find time for your relationships especially your relationship with God. It’s okay to restructure, it’s okay for the duration of fellowship to reduce, ask the holy spirit to help you with his wisdom so that nothing suffers in this type of season.
3. The Battle Season. Remember how Jesus said in the world you will find diverse tribulations but be of good cheer because he overcame?(John 6:33). There are definitely going to be seasons of turbulence in your life where your faith in God will be tested by the devil. God doesn’t test us, the devil does. ‘Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.(James 1:13). If you’re going through some hard times in this season, know that God is with you right there in the midst of it all. He’s totally at work. I know it’s hard when you’re in the middle of it, and you might not even understand what you’re going through or why. But I want to encourage you that God knows, and in due time, all will be everything will work out. In the meantime, don’t give up or get tired of doing good, 2Corinthians 4:17 states, “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen…” In this season, fix your thoughts on heavenly things, not on things on the earth. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Let God strengthen and comfort you. As uncomfortable as hard times are, they help us develop an unshakeable trust in God if we let him go through the journey with us.He sees you and He is working things out for you. “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:2-4)
IN THE NEXT POST, WE WILL TALK MORE ABOUT OTHER SEASONS AND WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE IN THESE SEASONS.
