God And The BusyBee Season

Life is in seasons, the book of ecclesiastes reassured us on how there are times and seasons in life and honestly, it is the same in our individual lives. There are seasons when you have all the time in the world to do everything you want and spend extended time with God. There are times that you don’t even have enough time to catch your breath and taking out time to fellowship with God seems impossible so you go about being busy, drained and guilty from not spending time with God.

Like Mary, you long to sit at the Lord’s feet but the daily demands of a busy world just won’t leave you alone. Like Martha, you love Jesus and really want to serve him…yet you struggle with weariness, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy.
I have had my fair share of being extremely busy, going days without talking with God, getting drained from life’s busyness and being disconnected from my source of strength. Life is always going to be busy, you will always have things to do, people to see, places to be and so on but how you incorporate God in everything is what this article is about because he definitely wants to be in everything about your life.

I remember asking the Holy Spirit to teach me to have a better relationship with Him.He reminded me about a couple of things that i did and i thought were productive but I had basically made a ritual/religion out of them so I was just doing them for the sake of ticking them off my to-do unconsciously. One of those things is praying. Yes, I’m sure it sounds a little absurd to you. You are probably thinking how in the world can you pray wrong? Stay with me, I will explain.

Prayer is communication with God. Simply put, having a dialogue with God like you do with everyone in your life even strangers you meet on your daily activities. Scriptures says, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING and we think it’s impossible because we have made a ritual out of prayer. Given it a how and where to be done. God wants to have conversations with you concerning everything that crosses your mind. For me, instead of just letting my mind wander because it will wander, i try to have a conversation about everything my mind thinks about. For instance, my mind wanders to food… my response usually is thanksgiving to God for being my provider and sustainer. If my mind wanders to a friend, i talk to God about them…stating my heart desires for them. That way, i am actually praying without ceasing and i can connect with God for most of my hours of being busy. Praying in the tongues is a powerful tool that we don’t maximize enough. It’s so refreshing and spending time with the holy spirit, praying in tongues, building yourself up shouldn’t be left to one hour of the day. You can pray in between work, in the bath, while driving, basically all day if you so desire.

Let’s face it, it can be hard to take out time to sit with your bible and study the word even though the word of God is the final authority over our lives and firsthand how we hear God speak to us. So, studying the bible is not optional! It is a necessity, It’s our survival kit. But exactly how do you stay full on the world in the busyness of the world. Here’s how i stay full of the word. First of all, i realized that using a hardcopy bible seemed like more work to me than staying in touch with my father so i switched to mobile bible apps on my phone and my laptop. It feels easier for me and i don’t necessarily have to devote a special time to studying and feel guilty when i don’t meet up with the plans. The bible study apps i use are olive bible and you version bible. I find you version effective because i get to set reminders for devotionals and i get daily verses of scriptures to meditate on which is really helpful in keeping God’s word in my heart all day long.

Who do you have in your corner, who are the people in your community? It is very important to have like minded people who are also pursuing relationship with God and whose lives are sold out to God in your corner during your busy bee season of life because they can be a remainder of what you want your relationship with God to be and you can discuss the scriptures and God’s promises over phone calls and lunch dates and so on. Remember, Iron sharpens Iron, a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Dearly beloved, God loves you and so do I. I really pray this article helps you transform your relationship with God through all the seasons and the craze that comes with life. Don’t forget to leave a comment, send in your prayer requests. Shalom!
